Žemaitukai is one of the oldest horse breeds in Europe, known from the VI - VII centuries. These horses have helped Lithuanians during the years of war and oppression. They are distinguished by their endurance, grace and obedience. The
horses have thin but strong legs, graceful gait. Colors are – brown, chestnut-brown, reddish-brown, black or palomino.
Žemaitukai are used for both ridding and farm work.
Once upon a time they were war horses. ŽEMAITUKAS is recognized as an internationally watched breed and included into the FAO World Watch List for Domestic Animal Diversity.
Žemaitukai horse breed is part of our cultural heritage.
